Shannon was gone for the day, so I promised the boys a day at the beach. I knew it either could be a lot of fun or a whole lot of work all by myself!! After getting an early start we arrived in Lincoln City to find a prime spot on the beach. We lugged all our beach toys, snacks, blanket and camera down to the beach. The boys played with the toys for a short while but they were pretty much running around having a great time while I was chasing them down to make sure they didn't run too far away or into danger (here comes the lot of work and no relaxation for me!!). After a few hours at this beach, we decided to head back to the car. Once I got close to the car, I looked down at Kelson and noticed he was missing a shoe. Soooo, we re-traced out steps and never found the missing shoe. The whole time Kelson was saying "hi" to everyone he saw and people thought he was the cutest little guy ever. I was bummed that we never found the missing shoe, but I had no idea when it came off. I told him to tell me if his shoe comes off and he said "okay". Yeah right!! We heading to the outlets to find a new pair of sandles, which we did and then we headed toward Newport to try out a new beach!
After Kelson took a refreshing snooze and Kaydin and I had a nice short scenic drive we arrived at a new beach.......both boys in fresh clothes and Kelson with his new sandals!!
The boys loved, loved, loved this beach. So much sand and not too many people. They ran and played for hours. We finally needed to head out to have dinner and get home. We were almost back to the car and guess what???? Kelson was missing a shoe AGAIN! I could not believe it. Luckily he had only had them on for a few minutes and I was able to locate it pretty easily. I knew it was a joke when he said he would tell me if his shoe came off!!! Toddlerhood is so much fun!
