I guess I officially missed a month without a blog post....so sorry to the few of you that check in occasionally. Summer time has been a busy time for us! I have been working my tush off putting in quite the long hours, Shannon has been working his tush off with some "not so easy" courses he decided to take summer term and we both have been trying to make summer a time to remember for the boys!
A few things we have done so far.....
- Playing at parks
- Swimming
- Shannon, Kaydin and a friend ran the Dirty Dash
- Kaydin has gotten to ride his dirt bike
- Kaydin got to watch a huge skateboarding event in Portland
- Shannon, Kaydin and my niece Cassie went to Oaks Park (an amusement park in Portland)
- Shannon took Kaydin to his very first stock car race
- Movies
- Boys camping trip (Kaydin, Kelson and Shannon)
- Splash Parks
- County Fair
- Great Oregon Steam-Up
I am sure I am missing a few things and as you can read....Kaydin is getting to do so much more due to being a little older! I look forward to Kelson being just a few years older so he can also enjoy these other fun summer activities.

The Great Oregon Steam-Up was amazing....nothing like I had imagined it would be! Shannon was given a free ticket to get in and the boys were free as well, so that made for an inexpensive adventure for us. That and I think it would be a dream come true for most little boys. Kaydin competed in the pedal pull (I missed my photo op because it happened so fast), we looked at all kinds of great things, we watched a parade and the boys got to ride a train. So fun and now we have yet another fun summer tradition!!
We ended our day at a splash park...the boys love playing in the water!
