Kaydin riding his bike while camping with daddy!!
Kaydin caught this fish! He actually caught two and Shannon didn't catch any!I just returned from a trip to visit Emily, Madison and Cassidy in Lexington, Kentucky. It was very nice to see all of them and I had a wonderful time. Shannon and Kaydin had some special daddy/son time together camping for 4 days/3 nights in the wonderful Oregon heat while I was away. They enjoyed their time together. I am finding that as Kaydin gets older I will see less of him because he will be with dad fishing, hunting, riding ATVs, working in the garage, or what ever boys do.

So, what is up with the "famous suitcase" you wonder..... Well, on Sunday I got up early (6:30 a.m.) to get to the airport for my 9:00 a.m. flight. Keep in mind this is Eastern time. I got all checked in and waited patiently at the gate to get on the plane. Well, when it was time to board they announce they overbooked the flight and they need one volunteer to rebook on another flight. I sat there thinking I was tired and just wanted to get home. They announce again that they need a volunteer and I am kinda thinking about volunteering, but I don't. I am looking at my watch thinking about my very short layover in Chicago and for any of you that have been to O'Hare, it is crazy there. For the third time, they say we are not leaving until someone volunteers, so I decided to rebook. I figured I would miss my flight in Chicago anyhow, so why not. I got a free round trip ticket out of the deal. So now I don't fly out until 4:30 p.m. I hook back up with Emily, the girls and her mom for a wonderful lunch and some shopping. Thank you again Emily and Jan!! I'd had been thinking I wanted a larger suitcase for a while now but I never went and got one. Well, Jan (Emily's mom) had this red suitcase with white polka dots. I loved it, it was unusual and fun. She mentioned where she got it and it was such a great deal. We were able to find that store in Louisville and I got one of my own. Since I was rebooked on a different airline I was able to check a 2nd piece of luggage at no cost. So, here is the rest of my evening. From Louisville, I flew to Atlanta which put me farther from Oregon instead of closer. In Atlanta we boarded the plane and they had issues, so we were stuck in the plane for 1 1/2 hours before taking off. The flight was 5 hours, so I spent 6 1/2 hours stuck in a plane in the middle seat next to two unfriendly guys. I didn't sleep at all, I would hate to snore or fall on to one of these guys. I finally arrived in Portland at 11:00 p.m. and after tracking down my luggage I was driving off at around 11:45. I finally got home a little after 1:00 a.m. I was so tired, by that time I had been up for almost 22 hours. Oh gosh, what I would do for a free ticket. At least I have my new suitcase for my next adventure.
